I am about to draft a piece of Flanders, so I thought I would use the pre-set ground in R-XP grids. I don't think I'm having a blond moment, but the one that comes up for Flanders is off-set by a row (giving 60%?). On exploring I found that Kat Stitch is every other hole, which is probably what I want, so I think there is just a straight swop in the labelling. Not too much of a problem but it could be confusing.
Cheers, Jacquie

Having not had a reply here, I contacted Ruth who explained that Flanders ground needs to have the grid set to straight; It then comes up at 45 degrees, with dots at every fourth corner each way (ie double Torchon spacing), which is the way Mary Niven says is traditional in her book.
I did find it confusing though to have the extra marks on the background grid. If I wanted to move a dot slightly, I could select and drag it, and in this case the backgound mark would disappear. But I could find no way to delete the background mark (in areas on cloth stitch, for example) and this was very distracting when I was trying to move dots to get a smooth shape.
In the end I went back to normal grid, turned straight and dotted in my own ground on every fourth square. I did find this useful as the extra divisions made it easier to move dots and get them symetrical around a shape.
BTW, Kat stitch, of course, needs the grid set to 6o degrees or another suitable Bucks angle.
